JB Scofield
Artist
JB Scofield sees no limit to where his music will take him. Like the ‘Prison Break’ lead character that he borrows his alias from, the rapper refuses to be locked down by expectations. Born in Amsterdam and moving to Leicester, UK, when he was 15, JB immersed himself in the local music scene. He built a reputation locally before his name began spilling out of the city thanks to his performances on freestyle platforms such as Link Up TV and JDZmedia.
JB soon caught the attention of Dutch star Sevn Alias with his ‘Last Night In Leicester City’ video, which saw him channelling his excitement at Leicester City FC’s Premier League title victory over a beat by Holland’s Esko. This lead to the pair collaborating on ‘Mandem’, which amassed over 5 million YouTube views, 4 million Spotify streams, and had JB playing the track to 20,000 people at Amsterdam’s Encore Festival.
In January 2017 his versatile debut mixtape, ‘Scoseason’, reached No.8 in the Official UK Hip-Hop/Rap charts and boasted guest appearances from fellow Midlands representatives Young T & Bugsy and East London heavy-hitter Yxng Bane.
2019 saw JB score a viral hit with “Stretch It”, which later appeared on the EA Sports FIFA 20 official soundtrack, followed by hit single “OK OK”, before 2020's link up with fellow UK Midlander Jay1 on the 20Million+ streaming 'Flex'.
His latest release dropped in summer 2024, seeing JB link with producer Likkledotz on the track 'IYKYK'.
